Request for Access to Public Records
The New Haven Police Department uses this portal to fulfill police report requests, public and agency records requests and subpoena production requests, including law enforcement recordings (e.g., bodycam videos, 911 audio).
This site is the preferred method for requests. Due to the high volume of inquiries, requests made via other methods - US mail, fax or email - are not guaranteed a response.

Requests for public records, police reports or law enforcement recordings will be approved or denied according to Indiana’s Access to Public Records Act (APRA), Indiana Code 5-14-3 et al., which may include:
Whether or not you are a valid requestor by statute.
Whether or not your request is appropriately specific; and
Whether or not your request involves records disclosable by law.
Approved requests to view or copy law enforcement recordings will be subject to obscuring or redaction as required or allowed by law.
Approved requests to view law enforcement recordings:
Will be by appointment scheduled via this site.
Are generally scheduled Monday-Friday, 8am - 5 pm.
Will be viewed in a secure area accompanied by a sworn officer.
Will allow note taking but not recording of the video.
Will allow the presence of an attorney who may also take notes but not record the video.
