Annual Events

The following are events typically held each year in New Haven.

Winter

  • Holiday Homecoming: Our annual Holiday Homecoming is the kick-off to the holiday season. The day after Thanksgiving (aka Black Friday) the City lights up Downtown with Christmas lights and a Christmas Tree. A free event, we offer prize giveaways from local businesses, hot chocolate, and you can even tell Santa what you want under the tree! Spring

  • Flag Day: In honor of our flag and the unity it represents, the Color Guard retires the old flag in front of City Hall exchanges it with a new one. The ceremony is a significant event, as it allows us to give thanks to new residents from all over the world and to the veterans who have served to uphold all that it symbolizes. Also, on this day, the City collects old and retired flags donated by residents to give the stars to veterans. To learn how to join call 260.748.7077.

Summer

  • Summer Fest Celebration: Summer Fest is the city-wide Independence Day Celebration. Usually for two days, this event offers live music for each day, food trucks and drinks, a festival market, fair games for all ages, and so much more! The last day starts with a parade and singing of the National Anthem. To learn how to register, call 260.748.7077 or visit our registration page to become a vendor.
