Residential ILP & Certificate of Compliance

  • Residential ILP (PDF)
    A Residential Improvement Location (ILP) is required for a variety residential projects, including but not limited to:
    • Decks
    • Garages
    • New home Construction
    • Porches
    • Room Additions
    • Sheds over 200 square feet
  • Residential Certificate of Compliance Request Form (PDF)
    This form is required when a developer or contractor requests that the Planning Department issue a Certificate of Compliance for a completed residential project.
  • Swimming Pool ILP (PDF)
    This form is required when installing a swimming pool that is over 250 sq. ft. in area and over 2 feet in depth. Additional fencing standards may apply.

Fence ILP

  • Fence (PDF)
    A fence permit is required for any new fencing and may be required for the maintenance and replacement of existing fencing.

Commercial ILP & Certificate of Compliance

  • Commercial ILP (PDF)
    Commercial ILPs are submittal for small project that are less than 1,000 square feet in size and are not subject to Site Plan Review. In order to get a Commercial ILP, you must submit a Certificate of Compliance upon project completion in order to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy from the Allen County Building Department.
  • Site Plan Review Application Packet (PDF)
    For commercial projects over 1,000 square feet a Site Plan Review Application is required. In order to get a Commercial ILP, you are still required to submit a Certificate of Compliance upon project completion in order to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy from the Allen County Building Department.
  • Commercial Certificate of Compliance Request Form (PDF)
    To receive a Certificate of Compliance, it is necessary for the Planning Department to conduct a site inspection to ensure that the project remains in compliance with local ordinance and zoning regulations.
