Welcome! We are happy to welcome you to our city. Welcome Home! We hope New Haven will be the place you call community for many years to come.
Mew Haven Public Works provides exceptional leaf preparation and pick-up. They work nonstop to keep out streets and curbs safe and clear of leaves and debris. You can help, by making sure all of your leaves are raked to the corner so the crews can make sure all leaves are collected. There are a few rules to help make this seasonal job as smooth as possible for our whole community because the fewer obstacles our team encounters, the faster they can get those leaves cleared.
The leaf schedule is subject to weather. Updates will be made to the City's Facebook and Instagram pages along with thefront page of the City website.
When your leaves begin to fall, please rake them on to the park strip between the sidewalk and curb in front of your home.
Please keep the leaves out of the street, away from street signs, light poles, mailboxes, and parked cars.
Bagged leaves can be dropped off at the compost pile at the Public Works building (2201 Summit Street, New Haven, IN 46774). Make sure your leaf bags are biodegradable as these are the most conducive for the compost pile.
All of the leaves that are picked up will be composted and made available to the public for free at the Utility Complex.
