The Community Development Department supports the residents and neighborhoods of New Haven by connecting them with city services, housing programs, permitting assistance, and community initiatives. We help residents navigate local regulations, understand available resources, and stay informed about what’s happening in their neighborhoods.

Looking for help with housing, food, utility bills, mental health, or other personal needs? The City of New Haven has gathered trusted resources for residents, including organizations like United Way, Brightpoint, Salvation Army, and more. New All-Abilities Coordinator

The All-Abilities Coordinator helps connect individuals with disabilities to programs, services, and resources in our community. This includes assistance with finding information on housing, employment, accessibility, recreation, and other areas of daily life. This person also works with local organizations and agencies to make sure residents are aware of available support and opportunities.

Trash Services

New Haven offers city-wide trash collection service along with optional bi-weekly recycling service. Our service provider is Republic Services and can be contacted for any questions you may have regarding your trash service. You can also contact the at 800.876.9001.
