Mayor McMichael and Card & Associates Update Fields of Grace Sports and Tourism Destination Status

Mayor Steve McMichael shared today at the Greater Fort Wayne Economic Development Summit that the City of New Haven and Indianapolis-based Card & Associates have taken the next step to advance the Fields of Grace partnership and project.

As reported in early 2023, the Fields of Grace development will be anchored by an indoor fieldhouse containing at least five hardwood courts for basketball and volleyball, pickleball courts, turf and convenNon space with support infrastructure. The Fields of Grace will include eight outdoor mulN-use fields with a heavy focus on baseball and soPball. It is strategically located on Minnich Road, offering ideal access to I-469.

“I’m excited to update you, that the City of New Haven and Card & Associates has prepared the first draP of the Fields of Grace masterplan. Fields of Grace is envisioned as a sports-tourism desNnaNon that will provide quality of place and complimentary ameniNes,” said McMichael. Public-private funding opNons are now being considered as well. The City and Card & Associates have been working diligently to establish a desNnaNon masterplan development which could ulNmately create an annual economic impact of 50 million dollars.

“Card & Associates is incredibly honored to partner with Mayor McMichael and the City of New Haven to bring this amenity along with our proven performance to the community” said Andy Card, Founder and CEO of Card & Associates. “Fields of Grace will impact New Haven’s economy and provide needed ameniNes for New Haven residents to enjoy.”

As we work with communiNes to develop these desNnaNons, we always focus on a ‘Live. Stay. Play.’ mentality. Card & Associates developed, leases and operates Pacers AthleNc Center in Wes_ield, IN, MojoUp Sports Complex at Finch Creek in Noblesville, IN and Community Sports and Wellness in Pendleton, IN. Similar to Card & Associates’ Hickory JuncNon in Lebanon, the Fields of Grace master planning also calls for complimentary uses of addiNonal tourism, entertainment, medical, and residenNal uses.

The City and Card & Associates are incredibly aligned with our shared vision for the Fields of Grace development. Since first elected, Mayor McMichael has conNnually tasked New Haven city team members and stakeholders to miNgate economic leakage. This development will do just that. It enables New Haven residents to enjoy a first- class, community-based desNnaNon and ameniNes while maximizing spending in their own community.

AddiNonally, Fields of Grace will enable New Haven to welcome regional and naNonal visitors driving added economic development and unique opportuniNes for its residents.
