New Haven – Adams Township Park Board Announces New Superintendent Parks and Recreation

New Haven, Indiana, November 8, 2023 - The New Haven – Adams Township Park Board is proud to announce the appointment of Nick Goranson as New Superintendent of Parks and Recreation effective November 13, 2023.

After 15 years of dedicated service to the community, Superintendent Mike Clendenen announced his retirement. He has overseen several initiatives throughout the parks system. To name a few, the new Community Center Park and Splash Pad, M3 Concert series at Schnelker Park, and the 100-year celebration of Schnelker Park; the oldest park in the city. While we will miss Superintendent Clendenen, we are grateful for his service and dedication to this community.

With a background in recreation and passion for the community, superintendent Goranson brings a wealth of experience and leadership to this vital role. He is poised to lead the Parks and Recreation Department by continuing to engage the community and fostering a vibrant recreational environment.

Superintendent Goranson states, “I am thrilled to join the dedicated team at New Haven – Adams Township Parks and Recreation as we continue to enhance our parks system so that future generations can always enjoy their community.”

Goranson was raised in New Haven and continues to live in the City with his wife and two children. Along with his passion for our city, he is also a certified Arborist, pesticide applicator, and pool operator.
